FAQ's
what device do i need for online coaching?
You'll need to make sure you're using a laptop or iPad and have also downloaded the Zoom app before you start your online session. Please make sure you are always the Zoom app rather than the web browser version. Please note, iPad audio quality is not the same as a laptop, a laptop is always preferable. Please also have a separate device to hand (a phone etc) to play backing tracks from.
what audio settings do i need for zoom?
Once you have joined your online session, please head to your 'audio settings'. A box will appear in the middle of your screen, scroll down and ensure 'ORIGINAL SOUND FOR MUSICIANS' is ticked.
Once you have done this, close off your audio settings, returning to the zoom meeting and you will now see 'ORIGINAL SOUND FOR MUSICIANS- OFF' in the top left hand corner of your screen. Click these words to turn this to 'ON'. You will have to manually do this every time you join a new zoom meeting.
Weak internet connection can make online coaching difficult and sometimes impossible. Please ensure your connection is strong when booking an online lesson. It is preferable to have an ethernet cable connecting your laptop to your Wi-Fi router, guaranteeing a stable connection without latency or freezing - it’s just like being in the room.

what is estill voice training?
Estill Voice Training is the system I use as the basis of my teachings. Estill puts the scientific theory into concrete practice to maximise voice control for your speaking, your singing, and your health. It is used in drama schools across the country and by professional performers. I specifically try to declutter and lessen the academic constraints of technical singing to make sessions informative, fun and useful for the client. Singing can be technical, but it can also be freeing, easy and joyful, simultaneously.
